The eastern section of Eilean Shona at the mouth of Loch Moidart, Shona Beag is more of a peninsula than an island, connected to its larger neighbour to the west by a narrow neck of land. Trimmed by trees, it rises to 100m (328 feet) at Coir' an t-Sneachda in the northwest and extends to an area of 97 ha (240 acres). The settlement of Invermoidart lies on Shona Beag, which is accessible via a ford from the north.
