A summit overlooking the River Tweed from the north, Quarry Hill rises to 390m (1279 feet) 1½ miles (2.5 km) southwest of Stobo. A disused quarry has eaten into its western slopes, while much of the rest of the hill is now cloaked in plantation forest. Stobo Castle occupies a commanding position on its eastern shoulder.
