The River Morar in the Lochaber district of Highland Council is an estuarial river and flows from the Morar Dam at the western end of Loch Morar to the sea less than a half-mile (0.8 km) to the west. Discounting its estuary, which extends through the fine Morar Sands for a further 1½ miles (2.5 km), it had been a contender for Britain's shortest river, although this honour is held by the Scavaig River in S Skye.
