Lochend Loch is situated in Lochend Park, Edinburgh, between Lochend Road, Marionville Road and Easter Road Stadium, the Hibernian Football Club Ground. The loch has no stream flowing in or out, but rather is fed by underground springs. It once supplied piped water to Leith, but in more recent years has been regarded as a danger to local residents and was therefore partially filled in to reduce its depth in the late 1960s.
Today Lochend Loch is fenced in and partially overgrown by trees, although it also acts as a modest wildlife refuge.
