A western suburb of Edinburgh, Sighthill lies between South Gyle to the north and Wester Hailes to the south. Stevenson College is located in Sighthill, while Edinburgh Napier University has a campus here. When it opened in 1953, Sighthill Health Centre was the first modern local healthcare facility in Scotland, with a team of doctors, dentists and nurses working together to provide integrated care for patients. The area also benefits from a public park. The sizeable Sighthill Industrial Estate is home to the Bank of Scotland's Computer Centre, the National Record's of Scotland's store Thomas Thomson House, at Burton's Biscuit Company, and HM revenue and Customs and the Scottish regional office of the Ordnance Survey share Grayfield House. A plant produced 'Golden Wonder' potato crisps here, which were first made in Stockbridge by baker William Alexander in 1947. The company went on to develop the world's first flavoured crisps in 1962 but production later moved to Corby in England.
The Edinburgh Tram Line has a stop on Bankhead Drive, between Sighthill and Bankhead.
