A thriving township in the NW of the Mainland of Shetland, Brae is situated 22 miles (35.4 km) north of Lerwick on the neck of land that separates Sullom Voe from Busta Voe. The road diverges here for the Sullom Voe Oil Terminal, which has brought significant development to Brae.
