A summit in N Central Perth and Kinross, Newtyle Hill rises to 317m (1040 feet) on the left bank of the River Tay a mile (1.5 km) east of Birnam. The Loch of Lowes, with its wildlife reserve and breeding ospreys, lies 1¼ miles (2 km) to the north.
