Ness of Portnaculter

A long and narrow point of Easter Ross, the Ness of Portnaculter extends northeastwards into the Dornoch Firth, immediately to the west of the Dornoch Bridge. Before the bridge, the Meikle Ferry used to cross the Firth at this point. The point is 1¼ miles (2 km) in length, but only 200m (218 yards) at its widest.
