Quharity Burn

(Carity Burn)

A stream rising in the Braes of Angus in the southern Grampians, the Quharity (or Carity) Burn flows north from the northeast slopes of Strone Hill, a half-mile (1 km) to the northeast of the Loch of Lintrathen. It turns eastwards and flows past Inverquharity and Inverquharity Castle. The Quharity Burn joins the River South Esk just southeast of that river's junction with the Prosen Water, 3 miles (5 km) northeast of Kirriemuir, having completed a course of 8 miles (13 km). Another Quharity Burn passes a half-mile (1 km) to the west, flowing south to enter the Loch of Lintrathen.
