A small uninhabited island in the Shetland group of the Northern isles, Muckle Flugga lies immediately north of the island of Unst. Its lighthouse, which was built in 1858, is the northernmost in the British Isles. Along with its neighbouring islands, Muckle Flugga is part of the Herma Ness Nature Reserve.
