Known as the 'Loth Stone' on the supposition that it marks the grave of a fictitious Pictish monarch named Loth, this stone is a four sided monolith some 2.4m (8 feet) high, located at a field boundary a half-mile (0.8 km) southwest of the summit of Traprain Law. It has been moved (post-1913) from its original position to the edge of the field to facilitate ploughing. The area was excavated at the time but nothing was found, although there are earlier records that stone coffins and a cist were discovered in the vicinity.
