Whinny Hill

Rising to 178m (584 feet) to the southwest of St. Margaret's Loch, Whinny Hill is the northeastern-most summit within Holyrood Park in central Edinburgh. Geologically, the hill comprises a series of lava flows erupted from the Arthur's Seat volcano in Carboniferous times. In 2017, airborne surveys revealed the traces of ancient enclosures here.
