A small district of E Glasgow, Provanhall lies a half-mile (1 km) northwest of Easterhouse and 5 miles (8 km) east of the city centre. Taking its name from the 15th-century Provan Hall, located within Auchinlea Park to the west of the district, it forms part of the Greater Easterhouse area, although formally lies within the Garthamlock electoral ward. The enormous retail development of Glasgow Fort lies beyond. The district comprises 600 modern and refurbished homes managed as social housing by the Provanhall Housing Association. The area benefits from a neighbourhood centre, a primary school and a post office.
