Curriehill

A former estate and northern district of Currie in SW Edinburgh, Curriehill lies a half-mile (1 km) south of Heriot-Watt University's Riccarton Campus. Curriehill House was built in 1856 for John Marshall, a Law Lord with the title Lord Curriehill. An earlier Law Lord, Sir John Skene, had also taken the title Lord Curriehill in 1594. A commuter station here, on the Caledonian Railway line to Glasgow, reopened in 1987.
