Rob Roy's Cave

Located on the eastern shore of Loch Lomond, Rob Roy's Cave lies opposite Sloy Power Station and a half-mile (1 km) north northwest of Inversnaid. The cave has a narrow entrance, and legend suggests that it was used by Rob Roy MacGregor (1671 - 1734) as a refuge during his cattle rustling years. The cave is also thought to have been used by Robert the Bruce (1274 - 1329) after his defeat at the Battle of Strathfillan in 1306.
