Cairn Point

A headland on the eastern shore of Loch Ryan (Dumfries and Galloway), Cairn Point lies immediately to the northwest of Cairnryan. Loch Ryan Lighthouse was built here in 1847 by Alan Stevenson (1807-65). A decaying pier, which extends south from Cairn Point, was part of the port built here during the Second World War.
