St Mary's Chapel, Rothesay

The preserved late-Mediaeval remains of the chancel of the Parish Church of St Mary are located immediately to the southeast of the High Kirk on the High Street in Rothesay, a half-mile (1 km) south of the town centre. Once part of the Bishopric of Man, the building contains the tomb of a knight under an ogee arch, probably one of the Stewarts of Bute. There is a further tomb with the figure of a mother and child under a round arch. There is also a piscina. Now in the care of Historic Environment Scotland, the chapel was re-roofed in 1997 to protect the tombs.
