A ruined mediaeval church on the island of Westray (Orkney), the Cross Kirk lies to the south of Tuquoy on the Ness of Tuquoy. Built on the site of a Norse settlement in the middle of the 12th century, the original church comprised a small rectangular nave with a barrel-vaulted chancel. A large western extension was thought to have been added in the 13th century, although may be of a later date. This extension is now reduced to its foundation courses, although the original building still stands to a height of 2.5m (8¼ feet).
The property is maintained by Historic Environment Scotland and is surrounded by a churchyard which remains in use and contains some interesting monuments.
