Tolbooth Museum

Built between 1616 and 1629 to house those awaiting trial or punishment, the Tolbooth of Aberdeen served as the prison for Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire for over 200 years. Formerly known as 'The Wardhouse', it is situated on Union Street, Aberdeen's main thoroughfare, and is now a Civic History Museum.
