Orasay Island

(Eilean Orasaigh)

A small rock-trimmed island which forms one of the Barkin Isles, located at the mouth of Loch Leurbost on the east coast of Lewis in the Western Isles, Orasay Island (Gael: Eilean Orasaigh) lies a half-mile (0.8 km) south of Ranish. This uninhabited island rises to 17m (55 feet). It should not be confused with another smaller Orasay Island located near the head of the loch.
