Outerwards Reservoir

A small reservoir on the course of the Noddsdale Water in North Ayrshire, Outerwards is located 2½ miles (4 km) southeast of Skelmorlie and 4 miles (6.5 km) north northeast of Largs. Opened in 1906 for the supply of drinking-water and retained by an earth embankment dam, it is now operated by Scottish Water and covers an area of 6.2 ha (15 acres). A recreational fishery here has been operated by Largs and District Angling Club since 1989.
