Fladda-chuain

(Fladaigh Chuain)

An uninhabited rock-trimmed island lying in the Minch between Skye and Harris, Fladda-chuain is located 4 miles (6.5 km) northwest of Rubha Hunish (Skye). The island reaches a height of 29m (95 feet). The ruins of St Columba's Chapel are located at Cladh a' Mhanaich on the southwest coast and this is said to be where MacDonald of the Isles hid his title deeds prior to the Jacobite Rising of 1715.
