A former estate, which now forms suburban extension to the south of Dunbar in East Lothian, Lochend lies between Dunbar railway station and the A1 Trunk Road. Housing development began in 1997. Lochend Wood, now managed by Dunbar Community Woodland Group, contains the remains of Lochend House.
Lochend estate was the property of the Baillie family until 1664 when it was bought by Sir Robert Sinclair of Longformacus. In 1708 it was sold once again, to an Edinburgh merchant, Sir George Warrender (c.1658 - 1722), who was created the first Baronet of Lochend in 1715. The estate remained the property of the Warrenders until 1947 when it was split up and the farms sold.
