Clickimin Leisure Centre

Clickimin Leisure Centre is the principal sports and leisure facility in Shetland and is located on the eastern shore of the Lock of Clickimin, a half-mile (1 km) west of Lerwick. Opened on 30th March 1985, the centre houses a 25-m (27-yard) swimming pool, complete with flumes and an outdoor lagoon. There is also a sauna, steam room and spa pool, together with a 6-court sports hall, a bowls hall, squash courts, climbing wall and fitness centre. The centre also accommodates conferences, concerts, shows and charity events within its halls.

Clickimin is the largest of the sports facilities owned and operated by the Shetland Recreational Trust, who are able to use a proportion of Shetland's oil revenues to provide community facilities. The architects were Newcastle-based Faulkner Browns. The centre was built in three phases, at a total cost of £16 million. The squash facilities were the most recent development, completed in 2007. The complex benefits from a special low-temperature heating circuit on the Lerwick District Heating System which warms the swimming pool to 30°C.

Outside are sports pitches and an athletics arena. Adjacent is a camping and caravan site.
