Machrie Moor

An area of low-lying moorland, Machrie Moor is located between Machrie and Shiskine in the west of Isle of Arran. The Machrie Water flows through the moor to the coast at Machrie Bay. The area is noted for its numerous archaeological sites, including stone circles, standing stones, chambered cairns and hut circles, one of the richest prehistoric landscapes in Scotland.
