A small group of summits lying just within the northwestern boundary of East Renfrewshire, the Fereneze Hills lie to the west of Barrhead and reach a height of 223m (731 feet) at Killoch Hill, a mile (1.5 km) north of Neilston. The Fereneze Hills are separated from the Lochliboside Hills to the west southwest by the Killoch Water and from the Brownside Braes in the north by the Harelaw Burn. The Harelaw Reservoir is located within these hills.
