A two-arched masonry bridge which crosses the River Nith a half-mile (0.8 km) west of Thornhill in Dumfries and Galloway, the Nith Bridge was constructed in pink sandstone by William Stewart in 1777-8. The piers have triangular cutwaters which support similarly-shaped refuges for pedestrians.
