Daugh of Aswanley

An upland tract in NW Aberdeenshire, the Daugh of Aswanley lies to the south of the River Deveron to the east of Haugh of Glass, 5½ miles (9 km) west of Huntly. The unusual word daugh comes from the term davoch which is an old Scots areal unit of land. It appears in place-names exclusively in a small area on the Aberdeenshire-Moray border.
