Loch Miavaig

(Loch Mhiavaig, Loch Miabhaig)

A small sealoch, which is an arm of West Loch Roag on the west coast of the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides, Loch Miavaig (occasionally Loch Mhiavaig, Gael: Loch Miabhaig) faces east, extending from the end of Glen Valtos to flow into West Loch Roag behind the island of Floday. The settlement of Miavaig lies at its head, while Uigen is located on its north shore. There is another Loch Miavaig (or Meavaig) in North Harris, 19 miles (30 km) to the south.
