Rubha Melvick


(Ru Melvick, Rubha Melvaig, Rubha Mealabhaig)

A remote headland which represents the most southeasterly point of South Uist in the Outer Hebrides, Rubha Melvick (also Ru Melvick or Rubha Melvaig, Gael: Rubha Mealabhaig) is located 1¼ miles (2 km) east southeast of Roneval and 5 miles (8 km) southeast of Lochboisdale, at the eastern end of the Sound of Eriskay. The land rises steeply from a rocky shore to 147m (482 feet).
