Isle of Barra Golf Course

Having the distinction of being Britain's most westerly course, the 9-hole Isle of Barra Golf Club is located at Cleat, on the northwest coast of the island, 4 miles (6 km) north of Castlebay. Established in 1992 on common grazing land leased from the township of Cleat, the course extends to 2396 yards (2190m). It occupies an elevated position looking out over the Atlantic Ocean, and the primitive playing surface of the machair combines with natural contours and the hazards of grazing cattle to give a challenging course.

A modest wooden shed serves as the club-house.
