Black Barony

A tract of land lying to the west of Eddleston in the N Scottish Borders, Black Barony is associated with the Murray family, who became the Lairds of Blackbarony in the early 16th century. This estate later became Darn Hall and, in the 20th century, the house became a hotel known as the Blackbarony Hotel and then Barony Castle. The White Barony lies on the opposite side of the Eddleston Water, beyond Hog Hill.
