Slateford Viaduct

Carrying the mainline railway across the Water of Leith and Inglis Green Road, next to the Slateford Aqueduct, in the Slateford district of Edinburgh, the Slateford Viaduct is located 2½ miles (4 km) southwest of the city centre. Built 1840-42, to designs by John Millar (1805-83), this B-listed fourteen-arch structure opened with the railway on 18th February 1842.
