Sandray


(Sanndraigh)

An uninhabited island of the Western Isles, Sandray (Gael: Sanndraigh) lies to the south of the island chain, located between Vatersay to the north and Pabbay to the south, 3 miles (5 km) south of Barra. Separated from Vatersay by the Sound of Sandray, the island has an area of 400 ha (988 acres) and has a highest point of 207m (679 feet) at Cairn Galtair.
