Albert Halls

A smart Italianate building located on the north side of Dumbarton Road in Stirling, the Albert Halls represent Stirling's main city-centre venue for concerts, conferences and exhibitions. Opened in 1883, they were the work of local architect William Simpson (c.1809-90). The principal facade runs along Dumbarton Road and includes pedimented end bays which sit forward and a balustraded parapet with large urns. The entrance front faces southeast and features a round-arched and pedimented doorway. Inside the Main Hall, with a capacity of 883, is accessed from the ground floor, with a balcony entered from the first floor. Also on the first floor is the Lesser Hall, which seats 120 people. The Halls provide a conference venue for up to 500 delegates and are also promoted as a wedding venue. An experienced technical team manages stage, sound, audio-visual equipment and lighting systems.

Just inside the entrance is a popular bistro.
