Loch Macaterick

A loch in the arm of East Ayrshire which descends into Dumfries and Galloway, Loch Macaterick lies a mile (1.5 km) south southeast of Loch Riecawr and 7½ miles (12 km) west of Carsphairn. It receives the Tunskeen Lane and is the source of the Black Garpel. Blaeberry Isle lies at its centre, while numerous small islets can also be observed in the loch. A hill of the same lies to the south.
