Loch Veyatie

A long narrow loch of Highland Council Area, Loch Veyatie stretches for 4 miles (6 km) along the border between the districts of Ross and Cromarty, and Sutherland. Lying 7 miles (11 km) southwest of Inchnadamph and 3 miles (5 km) west of Ledmore, this loch is separated from nearby Cam Loch by the waters of Abhainn Mor. The loch gave its name to the Royal Navy frigate HMS Loch Veyatie launched by the Ailsa shipyard in Troon in 1945 and scrapped at Dalmuir in 1965.
