A modest summit which represents a foothill of the Lammermuirs in the east of East Lothian, Spott Dod rises to 196m (643 feet) 1¼ mile (2 km) southwest of Spott. The Chesters hill-fort crowns a neighbouring summit a quarter-mile (0.4 km) to the northwest.
