A small reservoir in the Badenoch district of the Central Highlands, Loch Crunachdan lies at the head of Glen Shirra, 5 miles (8 km) west southwest of Laggan. It represent part of the Lochaber Hydro-Electric Scheme, receiving water from the Spey Reservoir a mile (1.5 km) to the east by a canal and channelling this south southwest through a tunnel to Loch Laggan.
