Loch Achanalt

Situated in Strath Bran, Ross and Cromarty district, Highland Council Area, Loch Achanalt is one of two small lochs on the course of the River Bran, the other being Loch a' Chuilinn. The loch lies 3 miles (5 km) east of the head of Loch Luichart. It gave its name to the Royal Navy frigate HMS Loch Achanalt launched in 1943 from Henry Robb's shipyard in Leith.
