Loch Garve

A tree-lined loch on the course of the Black Water in Strath Garve (Highland Council Area), Loch Garve is located a mile (1.7 km) southeast of Garve and 4½ miles (7 km) west of Strathpeffer. Both the A835 Trunk Road and Highland Railway curve around the southwestern shore of the loch, which supports a recreational fishery for pike and perch. Tradition suggests that a Kelpie also lives in the loch.
