Loch an Daimh

A substantial reservoir in W Perth and Kinross, Loch an Daimh lies to the north of Glen Lyon. At its western end it receives the Eas Daimh which flows into the loch through Gleann Daimh and the Feith Thalain. At its eastern end it is connected to the River Lyon by the Allt Conait. Retained by the Giorra Dam, which is a massive buttress structure some 463m (1520 feet) in length and 35m (115 feet) in height, which was completed in 1959. Before the dam was constructed there were two smaller lochs here; Loch an Daimh to the west and Loch Giorra to the east.
