Knight's Peak

Knight's Peak is a summit on the Cuillin Ridge on the Isle of Skye, rising to a height of 914m (2999 feet) a quarter-mile (0.5 km) southwest of Coire a' Bhasteir and 3 miles (5 km) south southwest of Sligachan. It lies on the Pinnacle Ridge approach to Sgurr nan Gillean and was named after Rev. Prof. William Knight (1836 - 1916) who, together with a local guide, made the first recorded ascent in 1873. Until 2013, it was classified as a Munro Top, with a height of 915m (3002 feet), but resurveying using GPS technology showed it to be slightly lower and hence is correctly a Corbett Top.
