A reservoir in the hills to the south of Loch Tay, Lochan Breaclaich lies 4 miles (6 km) southeast of Killin in Stirling Council Area. The Allt Breachlaich drains northwards from the reservoir, emptying into Loch Tay between Firbush Point and Fiddlers Bay. It forms the uppermost storage reservoir of the St. Fillans section of the Breadalbane Hydro-Electric Power Scheme. It is dammed at its northwestern end, but sends water via a tunnel to Loch Lednock, 4½ miles (7.5 km) to the east. The Breaclaich Dam was completed in 1960, is 433m (1420 feet) in length, 27m (89 feet) in height and composed of rock fill with a concrete facing.
