Loch Suainaval

Located in the Uig district in the west of the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides, Loch Suainaval (Gael: Loch Suaineabhal) is a long narrow loch that stretches for 4 miles (6 km) in a north/south direction. It is the deepest freshwater loch in Lewis, with its depth exceeding 61m (200 feet) and extends to 241 ha / 595 acres. Its volume is said to be 80.5 billion litres or 2843 million cubic feet. It empties into Loch Stacsavat to the north. Gallan Head lies 6 miles (10 km) to the north and Loch Grunavat a mile (1.5 km) to the east.
