Box Law

A remote hill within the Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park in North Ayrshire, Box Law rises to 474m (1555 feet), 3¾ miles (6 km) east northeast of Largs. Two aircraft have crashed in the vicinity of the hill; a Vickers Wellington bomber in 1941 and a De Havilland Devon in 1958. Flying Officer John Millar was killed in the first crash and lies buried in Grange Cemetery in Edinburgh. The remains of both aircraft can still be seen on the hill.
