Blaeloch Hill

A summit in North Ayrshire, Blaeloch Hill rises to 407m (1335 feet) 2 miles (3.2 km) east of Fairlie. The tiny Blae Loch lies just below the summit, while the Kelburn Wind Farm extends to the southeast. A Fairey Firefly aircraft crashed on the southwestern slopes of the hill on 26th October 1944, killing its crew of two, Sub-Lieutenants James Fairclough and Anthony King. Parts of the wreck remain on the hill and the site it interpreted by the wind farm operators.
