A small river in Aberdeenshire, the Cowie Water rises on the W border of Glenbervie Parish in S Aberdeenshire. It flows 13 miles (21 km) eastwards before falling into the sea near Stonehaven. A notable Second World War defensive line - the Cowie Line - followed its southern bank.
