Harehope Hill

A summit of the N Scottish Borders, Harehope Hill rises to 395m (1295 feet) 3 miles (5 km) southeast of Romanno Bridge and 5 miles (8 km) northwest of Peebles. There is an Iron-Age hill-fort known as the Harehope Rings on its summit. This structure comprises a pair of concentric circular ramparts, which reach 3.5m (12 feet) in height, with a ditch between. The entire area is covered with grass, but within are traces of eleven houses. The Harehope Forest extends to the northeast.
