A river of Argyllshire, the Awe flows from the northwestern arm of Loch Awe, into Loch Etive at the settlement of Bonawe. Flowing through the Pass of Brander, it has a length of 3 miles (5 km). It is restrained by a barrage 1¼ miles (2 km) southeast of Bridge of Awe, which allow water to be withdrawn to operate the Inverawe Power Station.
